At the beginning of his career at the School of Applied Arts in Prague, where he headed the special studio for applied metalworking arts from 1888, Celestýn Klouček prepared a collection of fifteen electroformed copies of his ornamental Renaissance Revival designs and decorative elements in relief.
The Renaissance Revival had a significant impact on ideas about decorative and ornamental relief forms, and Klouček presented these concepts to his students during this period. The style can be traced in Klouček’s sculptures and compositional sgraffito etchings applied in architecture as well as in numerous decorative art designs.
